June has the longest light of the year — sunset after nine — and the city spends it outside. The Náplavka riverbank fills with boats, bars and markets, the islands on the Vltava turn into parks, and paddle boats go out from Slovanský ostrov.
It is warm rather than hot for most of the month, which makes it the last comfortable month for walking the Castle and the Old Town at midday. Free music festivals, including United Islands, take over the riverbank and the parks.
Prices and crowds are high but not yet at their summer peak. Late June, as the Czech school year ends, starts to fill the popular day trips.
