Kbely & Letňany

Flat airfield country on the edge of town, worth the metro ride for one thing: a serious aviation museum.

What it is

The flat north-eastern edge of the city, built around the old Kbely military airfield — the first airport of Czechoslovakia.

What is here

The Kbely Aviation Museum: hundreds of aircraft from both sides of the Iron Curtain, free to enter, open in season. The honest answer for everything else out here is "only if you have a specific reason" — and saying so is more useful than padding.
